Around Barcelona

After the Sagrada Famila, we walked around Barcelona some more. The blocks are similar to any city, however in Barcelona, there aren’t too many right-angle corners. Most of them are cut at 45 degrees.

Here’s a Google Maps satellite image to clarify:

I was told, but have not confirmed, that this layout is so that trolley cars, that are no longer running, could make the turns more easily.

Everywhere you turn there is another amazing building. You turn the corner and

WHAM!

We also stopped to see Gaudi’s Casa Batllo.

All the pictures were just from out walk home.

  1. Wow, those buildings were stunning. The one looked like a catacomb, or something. One of the things you definitely wish we had here in the States.

  2. I find the lay out of the streets very interesting. Do you know why they dont have the tolley cars running anymore?
